John Winchester and Wincest.

My mind is still reeling from this excellent story I read recently, which had Dean and Cassie having a reunion of sorts. Then of course, my mind went to the other end of the spectrum to this horrible, badly-written story about Dean and Cassie getting married, then her being a bitch to Sam, which led to him putting her in a death-like state, and ( Read more... )

wincest, dean/cassie

AGREE. WHOLEHEARTEDLY!

You know me, I think "Wincest", or any incestuous writings in any "deliriously happy" form is disgusting, and it makes me mortified to be in the same fandom with those that write/enjoy it.

And I think John Winchester would sooner beat his boys to a pulp. I think the boys would sooner beat each other to a pulp.

I think we have a lot of sick freaks in this fandom...

It's always interesting to see such nice generalizations and judgments made about people who enjoy something in *fiction*. Personally I'm mortified by people who think this way about fans who are just trying to have fun with fandom in their own way even if it's not for every single person in that fandom. I can't stand certain pairings that people put Dean and/or Sam in and sometimes wonder how they would even want that certain pairing together but I'm not mortified about it and if it makes them happy then go for it.

Hey, Anonymous. Is that Mr. or Ms.? I'll just go with the generalization and say Anonymous, since that's apparently what I do. And by the way? My opinion is my opinion. I never said I was trying to keep anyone from their "art", just that I personally don't like it, and if that comes with embarrassment then that's my honest reaction and I feel no need to hide it. And by the way? Nice editing job. I did not write "we have a lot of sick freaks in this fandom", I wrote, "I THINK we have a lot of sick freaks in this fandom", which is still my opinion.

And lastly, I not continuing this in my friend's journal here, so this is my one and only reply, oh Brave Anonymous One.

Hey! I have to say, I understand where you're coming from, but at this point, I just...I think it's ridiculous. It's not only ridiculous, it's unlikely and perverted. That's a given, but people are going to imagine whatever they want to. I'm strongly reaffirmed in my beliefs when I hear that Sam/Dean icons make the guys cringe, so I think I'm good, as far as what anybody else thinks. We know the real score :).

Well, I've read a couple of Wincest fics that I enjoyed, but they were all "raised-apart" AU's in which the participants themselves don't know it's Wincest at the time, so I'm not sure how much that counts. When it comes to canon, my "ick" factor takes over. And yeah, if Dean and Sam were fucking and John found out about it, I'm pretty sure one or both of them would be dead (or wishing they were) in fairly short order ( ... )

See, I could handle raised apart AUs, because there is no conscious knowledge of partaking in incest. Incest to me is a line that shouldn't be knowingly crossed, and one in particular that I think the Winchesters would never dare. That's what it boils down to for me personally.

As far as the story, it is here: http://indusnm.livejournal.com/5895.html

It's got a sequel too: http://indusnm.livejournal.com/6504.html#cutid1

I don't know if you have to friend her first, but it's worth it. It's a really good story.

As for the other one, the author ended up on Fandom_Wank. I believe her creations are free to read, but you need to check out the report on F_W first, LOL.
