Ahaha I'd never even thought about reading the stories in sequence. That's pretty cool! Might give it a try when rereading back issues. And when I do reread I'll definitely make use of the new 'like' button. What a great excuse to go back and enjoy all my favorites again.

Even before I became the editor, I thought reading the issue front-to-back was such an obvious thing that I never considered that someone wouldn't do it -- until I mentioned a couple years back that I order the issues carefully and got a lot of WHAT? YOU DO? responses. And thus that day I learned an important lesson about human diversity! But yeah, give it a whirl! I know that sometimes (especially with the super-short issues) order is pretty incidental, but the more stories I have to work with, the more I can get a sort of narrative arc going -- and keep similar stories apart, start and finish strong, pace things by story size, etc.

I have wanted that 'like' function for so long, and now that we have it, I can't stop being delighted by it. I love too that it gives us the ability to compile the Top Thirty list, since I know that jumping right in is a pretty daunting prospect for some folk. Alas, that list is only reflective of the times the little hearts have been clicked since December/January; it doesn't fully reflect SSBB's ( ... )

I'm currently going through the website and leaving hearts on stories I loved and bookmarked (yay! I'm so pleased with this way of leaving feedback, because I am constitutionally incapable of convincing myself to comment most of the time), and I've noticed a couple mistakes in the Master Story Index:
- White People Kissing In The Rain doesn't have a link to the mirror on the website
- A Voice In The Wilderness isn't on the Master Story Index at all
- Zero Six Four Eight Three Are You Listening is also not on the Master Story Index

Whups! Thanks for the heads-up there -- we're now over 850 stories and art entries, so I'm not surprised a few slipped through the catch. We appreciate your keen eye, and I'll get right on that. (Usually I \bluff and use a 'royal we' when some error or another crops up, but nope, I'm 100% sure that first one was my fault.)

I'm not surprised the latter one isn't there, though; the issue only went up a week ago, and it usually takes a little while for that to percolate up through the to-do list. It will be eventually! On behalf of all the creators, thanks so much for all the hearts!

Yeah, I completely understand some errors slipping in with such a long list of stories!

Thanks for explaining about why the last one isn't up yet. How long does it usually take for new stories to go up on the site? I am worried that going forward I won't remember to go back and heart stories I liked and read if I can't heart them at the time when I finish reading them.

There's actually no 'usually' about it just yet -- this is the first issue we've had go live since we've put the website up. The schedule we're thinking about keeping, though, is that the issue goes up on LiveJournal on Monday morning and then gets published on our website around noon Wednesday. We want the delay there because our website still really is just a mirror and we do want to encourage comments (since the authors will see those but won't necessarily see the hearts); plus, it's nice to have a reason to re-announce on Wednesday in case people missed the news on Monday. The Current Issue page will always display the most current issue (so anything put there will be there for at least a month) and is linked to from the top of the main mirror index page.

Please do let us know if you notice anything else gone wonky!
