Wow, what a read. I liked it very much...

While I like the idea of him jumping Robin and going right to Nightwing... I always pictured John becoming the next Dark Knight. They kind of hinted at it at the end of the film when he was the one rising on the platform, kind of a homage to the title of the movie. He was the Dark Knight that was rising all along.

Glad you liked it!

I thought the "Robin" thing was kind of cheesy. I think with the legacy Batman left, people knowing he sacrificed himself for them, the statue and everything, John would be wary of assuming the same name. If I were in the same situation, God forbid, I'd want my own name. I wouldn't want the stress of having to try to live up to this legend.

But either way, it's really cool Bruce gave John access to the cave, and Gotham may not be on its own.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Really enjoyed this. It took over right where the movie ended and I found quite plausible how you continued. Especially since he didn't just jump into the whole vigilante thing.

Although it's so weird reading 'John read...', John found...', 'John....'.

"Tell him you want to go spelunking."
Win!

Use of batons as a weapon of choice made me smile... And Lucius just taking, enthusiastically, management of the outfit. Seriously feels like a start of the series I'd like to read. And I was not too happy with John Blake as either future Robin or Nightwing. He's not Batman.

"He was a little surprised it was a basically normal mouse, not bat-shaped at all."
*cracks up*

So Nightwing... Good.

Thank you for the story!

I think for this guy whose world just got turned upside down, donning a costume and fighting crime would be far from his mind.

Although it's so weird reading 'John read...', John found...', 'John....'. Because it's weird having a Bat character named John, or because it needs to be written better? I admit this probably needs another careful edit ( ... )

No, no, I meant calling John someone I know as Robin, Nightwing, Dick, Richard, Grayson..... what's up with John? But this is a movie-gripe.

And, yeah, use of batons was ingenious.
Simply, a good good story. Can't believe it didn't won.... *pouts*

Don't forget Robbie Manlone and Freddy Llyod, his undercover names! And yeah, tough to get used to!

Eh, it's long, maybe people don't like John Blake, I'm not too let down. I'm just glad I can finally post it elsewhere!

Thanks again!!
