Midguard is THIS weekend!

Woohoo!! :) I've been so excited about this weekend. I get to see friends who I spent time at last year's Kaleidoscope and InFest.  We get to re-bless the enclave this weekend.

What I can't wait to see is how much of the Obstacle Course is left after the Maintenace Troll got his hands on it.

Rick and I were up until 1:30am ( Read more... )

ottawa, midguard, festival, whispering pines

Have fun. Don't get too wet. You might want an extra sweater with what the weather looks like.

Woot! Have fun!
Please report back about the state of the obstacle course, i am all worried. I've already started my first anxiety-dreams about what people have done to it when we're away (in my most recent dream, they flooded most of it and put in a lake, then put up drywall framing around our "kid" area so we couldn't get our camper through the doorways.

*grin*

Actually, Brendan, who has been running maintenance for Whispering Pines since last summer, pulled down the great wall that was behind your site. It was rotten and getting dangerous.

I specifically requested that the box and ropes where we put our kitchen be left intact since we use the box for our "table" and the ropes we use to suspend our kitchen tarp.

I'm still concerned to see exactly how far they went. :)

I'll let you know. :D

I have mixed feelings - the wall was rotting, but it made a good "side" for child containment, and the big posts were two good anchors for our rain tarp.

We'll make do. Every year we make it more like "home". And we have another family with kids camping with us this year.

I just can't stop thinking about Kaleidoscope, i'm so excited!

Well here is the update you wanted... ONLY that wall and it's supports has been pulled down. They have yet to remove the wood. They will be pulling down the majority (except where we set up our kitchen as I've asked Eileen to leave the box and hanging ropes).

We won't be back until KG but I'll be there on the Saturday prior to KG with several of our enclave-mates to get Poly-Tarpopulous started, major coverage and kitchen expansion with a bit of planning from those of us who use the kitchen. I have already acquired the 3 additional tarps from Rayne and metalana, and will be picking up another package from Loblaws over the next week or so.

The Obstacle Enclave will also be trying our hand at organization - someone brings something specific (but not difficult to retrieve if they can't come), that way we are saved the trouble of space. We'll also be better handling the garbage runs.

It's in the works!! :)

Actually we got 12 degree days and 2 degree nights and it rained most of Friday and Saturday but was moderately overcast on Sunday.

We had a wonderful time!! Lots of strange songs, food, friends and camping. :) What a blast!

OMG I so wanted to go to that this year. Saddly though it's not going to happen. We will probably be missing AI, as we're moving to Beaconwood *Montreal and Ogilvie* We do hope to be out for KG though. I'm really rather looking forward to it and I plan to take my holidays that weekend.

Have fun kids!

How sad!!! We'll miss you guys!! Of course it's up in the middle of no-where this year anyway!!

Rick and I, and several of our students are on the planning committee for AI so we have to go.

The weather this weekend was really interesting! Rain, sun, hail, thunder, you name it... we probably saw it... and some of the lunkheads decided that they were already soaked so they all jumped in the pond... sheesh..

We did have a blast though...
