Actually most cameras will do that, or better than my old camera anyway -- that one was free and had no focusing functions or anything. According to my dad, who's a digicam fanatic right now, there's no one camera that does absolutely everything -- except maybe dSLRs, professional-grade, costs a grand US.
You have to think about your subject matter and personal needs: portability or is bulk okay? Indoor or outdoor photography, still life or lots of motion? Tripod work? Will you need anti-shake/blur? How high does your image quality have to be, good enough to print or will you mainly hoard JPEGs? blah blah
I can ask my dad for his opinion if you have a good idea of what you're really looking for.
