Monthly lists are overrated.

8. In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner: OK, this one got better. I still like Good in Bed more, but I have to admit there were some really nice girl-power moments here. An easy read and I keep going back for more.

i think it may have surpassed The Poisonwood Bible as my favorite of her books.

yay! I just came across this, I linked here from Banzai's page (who I became LJ friends with ages ago through the odd coincidence that we have the same birthday) and I wholeheartedly agree about both books- I'm reading In Her Shoes right now, which was loaned by a friend when I mentioned I liked the movie, and just bought Prodigal Summer, which I devoured a year or so ago, for a friend.

(I'm haveing a brain moment- Annie Dillard, who is on your new list- same as Pilgrim at Tinker Creek author? )
