I call foul on him suddenly being enough of a SUPER HAXXOR to lock Danko's people out of their own network, but the rest?

I think it was Rebel doing that, not Peter.

I would so be up for Supernatural: The Sylar And Luke Version. Just as long as Castiel pops in every so often to look puzzled.

I HOPE it was Rebel. Because for the initial lock-out part (before Rebel's messages popped up to show them the file), it seemed like they were giving the impression it was PETER'S doing. And a L33T HAXX0R Peter is not.

I would so be up for Supernatural: The Sylar And Luke Version.

I can see it now. Sylar and Luke would kill some big nasty ~EVIL THING~ during their road trip during an unrelated bout of random violence, with people thanking them for their ~SELFLESS HEROICS~, and they'd just be all, "....we killed a WHAT in the WHAT now?"

Just as long as Castiel pops in every so often to look puzzled.

LOL, YES. I would be all for Castiel cameos. And Uriel. And Ruby. And Bobby. And whoever else feels like showing up.

I always assumed it was Rebel; it didn't look like Peter was doing anything but scrolling around looking for Daphne, and the techie noting that they were locked out of the system seemed unrelated. I think it was the writers, shockingly, employing subtlety. I'm not sure what to think about that...

Haha, yes! And then they'd go continue hunting monsters, because it was more of a challenge and lots of fun. Luke would, like, microwave demons and ghosts. Beautiful.

Ahh, I can just see Sylar encountering one of the angels and trying his head-slicing maneuver. Epic fighting would ensue.

WHAT IS THIS "SUBTLETY" YOU SPEAK OF?

It'd be awesome if they were doing it intentionally. I guess I'm so used to subtlety being thrown into oncoming traffic that I've forgotten how to spot it when happens.

I want to see Luke microwaving ghosts! He should have spoken up about Daddy Gray's apparent jackassery sooner. He might have convinced Sylar that the daddy issues weren't worth the trouble, and killing shit was a better way to spent their time. The idea of the two of them taking a Winchester-style monster-killing road trip is getting ENDLESSLY AMUSING to me. (FIC PLZ.)

Sylar vs. Uriel? Sylar vs. Castiel? LOL, you could sell TICKETS to that. I'd buy one.

I was half expecting John Winchester to walk in during the flashback for an EPIC CROSSOVER.

Sylar and Dean Winchester being brothers would be made of WIN.

I was thinking how adorable it would be if John had come in with wee!Dean in tow, and Dean and Gabriel spent a few minutes playing at the table before they went off to their respective angst-filled lives. Too bad Dean was only one year old in 1980, or almost two at the most.

"Uh. Okaaaay, then. Guess Daddy Gray's a psycho too. Apparently a very inept one."

I felt bad about not getting the whole---dumping in parking lot thing. I bet Martin ran out there and was like 'oh thanks bro! I appreciate that!'.

And little Gabriel was awfully cute though....:-) I would say it was 'oh trauma' that blocked the memory, but that's stretching it.

I loved Sandra's amazing amount of ass-kicking in this episode too!!!

LOL, if the flashback is accurate, Samson is apparently the worst brother ever AND the worst father ever. And the worst murderer ever. "BYE SON. I'LL JUST LEAVE YOUR MOM'S BODY HERE FOR EVERYONE TO FIND. LOOK ME UP IN 30 YEARS WHEN YOU'RE FEELING VENGEFUL. TOODLES!"

I would say it was 'oh trauma' that blocked the memory, but that's stretching it.

I reeeeally want to believe that Sylar's memories aren't as accurate as he thinks they are, and that there's more to the story than what we've seen. (Haven't there been ENOUGH evil!dads on the show already?) His dad can still be a dick without being a killer. But I don't have much faith in them going the subtle route with it. :/

SANDRA IS AMAZING. SO IS LYLE.

And so Kill Bill--this can't go wrong at all!!!

Ahahaha, I didn't even think of that comparison. I SEE NO WAY THIS COULD POSSIBLY END BADLY FOR ANYONE INVOLVED.

At the same time, it could like suck out the choice aspect that made Sylar fascinating too, if they aren't careful.

EXACTLY. That's why I hated THE HUNGER and the retcon crap last season. Sylar likes to blame everyone ELSE for his issues, and everything BUT his own choices. If biodad's a murderer too, then they're failing exactly where volume 3 failed by VALIDATING that. Besides, there's been enough jerkass EVILDADS on this show already. I'd be happy with Mr. Gray being a selfish dick with ISSUES of his own, but he doesn't need to be a murderer on top of everything else.

it would totally funny if the whole vision-flashback was really a manifestation of his guilt or something. He'd be like 'I saw you cut my mommy's forehead open!!!' and Samson's like 'WTF? I did? In what universe?'I'm not holding my breath for the storyline to choose subtle over OMG BIODAD'S A KILLER ( ... )

but the Sylar thing was another BIG RETCON for his motivations, goals, original power and even his AGE! Come on! How old is Sylar? beetween 35 and 40? from what we know in this volume, martin went away 27 years ago, the flashback has a big 1980 on it and the babyGabe is 7/8 years old...
Now Sylar has (conveniently) a post traumatic stress disorder? and... so now his M.O. came from his father? his tk came from his fahter? he being a killer came from his father and not from his need to be special? I'd rather prefer the hunger, thank you.

It's a fiiiiine line between adding more info to a back-story, and just plain retcon.

How old is Sylar? beetween 35 and 40?

The kid was a lot older than I would have thought, but my guess is they wanted him to look like he was 4 or 5 years old. And the Heroes timeline is still stuck in 2007 some time, I think. So that'd make Sylar...31 or 32? Something like that. The timeline on this show makes me brain hurt at the BEST of times.

Like I said to bellonablack up there, I'm REALLY hoping that Sylar's flashback memories aren't accurate, and that Daddy Gray really IS just a normal deadbeat-dad-who's-kind-of-a-jerk (still a dick, just not the murderous psycho kind). Not that there's much chance of the storyline going the subtle route instead of the "OMG EVILDAD!!1" route. But it's nice to have hope. Might as well wait and see what Daddy ( ... )

I remember a casting call for a kid with black hair and 6/7 years old. (the actor is 8)
Lyle must be 16 at least, right? Claire is 17, she was 15 in the first and turned 16 during the first episodes if I recall, so we must be in September 2008? I don't know. Certainly ZQ is 31, and the other characters are more or less the age of their actors. Someone missed his math lessons here... :/
