The dandelion is unassuming. It doesn't have any delusions of anyone ever wanting to pick a dandelion to admire it, to marvel at its beauty. Remus plucks the dandelion and looks in detail at all the small intricacies of its seeds and the bracts they come out of. Sirius comes up behind him.

“Make a wish,” he whispers in Remus' ear. Remus shivers and blows out a long breath. Sirius kisses his neck slowly. “What'd you wish for?”

Remus turns and pushes their mouthes together slowly. “This,” he says, resting his forehead against the other boys'. “For this summer to never end, for us to never end.”

Sirius frowns, moving his fingers at the nape of Remus' neck.

His neck is sweaty from heat and exertion and he can feel the sun in all of his pores. He can feels Sirius in all of his pores, making him on edge all the time, and constantly, unabashedly aroused. This kind of arousal starts at his toes and moves up his body, it feels like ghostly touches all over his body, body parts he doesn't even own, itch from Sirius' presence. Sirius kisses him again and says, “It'll never come true now.”

Remus tries to take back his words by taking Sirius, in the middle of a field filled with unfulfilled potential wishes. Remus apologizes into a kiss and Sirius eats it.

The dandelions watch and wait for somebody to hope.
