There comes a time in every persons life, when they experience a profound change of sorts. It is possible to excel in high school (academically, socially, in sports or arts) and to still honestly be a normal, well-rounded person. There are people out there who, by high school, have matured to the point where they want to be outstanding simply to be outstanding.

I don't think Wootton puts too much pressure on people. I got an A in AP Lit, but I didn't take the AP exam. It's all up to the individual. And Wootton recognizes all sorts of accomplishments, not just those in the realm of academia.

To echo Geneva, it is just high school.
