Living in the future
Yesterday I watched the Space-X launch come apart mid-flight.
Obviously, this is a bad thing. But it wasn't a manned craft, so it doesn't get big headlines. Which leads to the thought that space launches are now so common that we don't get freaked out when one fails. And yeah, I remember we had one TV channel when I was a kid, and it didn't start until 5 pm for the longest time. No fighting over what to watch, and not a problem that the TV didn't have a remote control. :)
Later you could rent a "movie box" and movies at the video store, but you had to make sure you got the right "movie box" as there were both VHS and Beta Max tapes.
