I suspect that, if you already have a bunch of exciting bits, one of them will come near the natural breaking point of the novel and you can build it up in revisions.
That's my hope. I have a sneaking suspicion which it will be. The opening scene of the book recaps the major emotional falling-out between the two leads (that happened in the previous book), which colors all their motivations. It gets resolved about midway through this book, and they have one night of peace before the shit hits the fan again.
And to resolve that fecal spray, they have to disrupt their renewed amity, and then a 3rd person, who was the ultimate source of the problem, COMPLETELY FUCKS IT UP FOR THEM AGAIN. (I'm rather proud of how it goes down. He's invited in to fix a thing, and my main chars know he probably will screw with them for the hell of it. And he does, but not in any way either of them predicted, and it is EVIL EVIL EVIL and a perfect reversal of the original problem and I'm super proud of myself for thinking of it.)
Pretty sure now that's going to be the end of the book. The action-y plot of the book has few complications, but the emotional lives of the characters are horrible in the best way.
