So I'm going through job applications, and I come to a candidate who has submitted only his resume, no cover letter, so already I've mentally round-filed him. i just friended your journal. i would totally apply for the job you're hiring for (editorial assistant, right?), only i live in los angeles! would i be able to telecommute? i have editorial/proofreading experience...

OMG, FUNNY!

The last time I was in a position to hire, I was a Controller looking for an accounting clerk.

We advertised in the newspaper, and I got about 30-40 resumes via fax.

Not one of the candidates was a fit for the job. Apparently, none of them even read the ad. And, some of the things I saw on those resumes made me howl with laughter, too.

I ended up having to go to an employment agency to find the clerk I needed.
