I am glad that you are feeling better Rat. Yes, It is better for you to buy a new helmet. It might cost some extra money, but what's a few extra dollars compared to you getting seriously injured.

if you have dizzyness, weakness in limbs, blurry vision, but didn't black out, you still have a concussion. Fortunately I had none of those, so it's not clear to me if I had a concussion or not

I think it's more like a pulled neck muscle, and I don't think you need a new helmet.
