I saw my doc on Friday mornin. He said that by medical definition I didn't have a concussion. That definition means loss of consciousness. Some in the medical field hedge on that, but he didn't elaborate. He checked me over and his conclusion was "you'll heal on your own, there's nothing I need to do for you." I am glad that you are feeling better Rat. Yes, It is better for you to buy a new helmet. It might cost some extra money, but what's a few extra dollars compared to you getting seriously injured.

if you have dizzyness, weakness in limbs, blurry vision, but didn't black out, you still have a concussion. Fortunately I had none of those, so it's not clear to me if I had a concussion or not

I think it's more like a pulled neck muscle, and I don't think you need a new helmet.
