Had this (graphics corruption) problem once too. You probably just have to re-install your graphic card driver.

I tried, and it didn't work (or I'm completely inept at updating my driver, which is also a possibility).

Updating won't do. You have to de-install and then re-install.

I think I did.
Or maybe I didn't because I suck. Also, ATI Catalyst isn't the most intuitive thing :-(
