Computer help!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

This is for all those computer-savvy techies out there. Specifically, Windows XP and users. Here's the problem: When I start the machine, it automatically loads the user profile, "Administrator", but not my named profile "Bandrik", while also ignoring the fact that it should be password protected (it skips this - a security ( Read more... )

That sounds disgusting, whatever is going on.

Contact katayamma, he should know. He's not on AIM at the moment, but emailing him should give you a place to start.

Start Menu --> Settings --> Control Panel --> User Accounts --> Pick A Task: Change the Way Users Log on or Off --> Make sure box next to "Use The Welcome Screen" is checked.

Sadly, that didn't help... it still skipped past the welcome screen without prompting a password...

Woah, I didn't know you could do that! Thank you very much, Gray!

Okay, that DID require a password! But... it still wants to default to "Administrator"... annoying! But livable... at least it's secure now.
