All of this probably explains why I never really heard of it. I had a SNES for the longest time, then an N64. I was a Nintendo fanboy back then (young and naive) so I probably ignored the 3D0 even when it was in stores. Eventually I gave in to a PS1 when FFVII came out and my friends talked it up to me. 3D0 didn't stand a chance of entering my household.

Friend of mine in first college had a 3do and it was impressive at the time but didn't really seem to have the simple fun factor of even an NES.
One of my absolute favorite systems was the Turbogfx 16. Very innovative, the handheld was (a little too) revolutionary, and the games were on something the size of a credit card.

As for the 3D0, it seems alright. The most entertaining game by far was Gex, but that could also be played on the more reasonable PlayStation. If the system had taken off I'm sure the game support would be better, but as it stands.... it didn't.
