how long a drive was it? I love road trips. :)

The drive from my house (about 10 minutes from Trenton, NJ) to D.C. is about 175 miles one way. Without traffic, the trip takes about three hours.

Glad J is having a good time. I hope she will have just as much fun in Aug... ;) Am very interested in hearing what she is up to in DC, so if you and C can post updates when you hear from her, that would be terrific.

There was one very important detail that J left off about the speaker last night.

He is blind, which makes it that much more amazing feat that he climbed Mount Everest.

Today's big activity wasn't the Inaugural concert -- at least J didn't mention going.

They did hear Colin Powell speak, though.
