I absolutely agree. I've never done Days, and I don't really ever want to. I've also heard scary stories about it, that it's almost like a cult. I think it's for those people whose faith is really shaken and practically NEED it to be forced down their throat. But I've also heard that it's a life-changing experience. So, whatever happens, I wish you all the best, Den. :) <3

You sound remarkably put together. Seriously! Your faith is strong, you think about your faith, you're not blindly following, and therefore you believe because you believe and not because someone told you to, or because it's what everyone is doing.

If they ask why you didn't polish to death, say this: I polished the coin as instructed, then I went and worked on the things the Lord would want me to excel in: ACET and preparation for life in the Real World. Reflecting on your faith is supposed to be a contemplative act and not a physical one. Answer me this: who got more out of the 'activity'? The one who mindlessly obeyed and worked OUT OF FEAR OF CONSEQUENCES or the one who is incorporates faith into life? Yeah--I figured that too.

Just pay the minimum lip service to get through this. I hardly think you need it! And if you feel you do, remember that the Lord is found everywhere and all the time. You don't need a special ANYTHING to be with him.
