In which I start a lot of sentences with "And"
EDIT: made public 24 April 2010 with the assumption that only the person I am emailing it to will read it.
And learn to accept the fact that I am very prone to pretension, that I will probably be judged for it, and that I am basically beyond caring, because I am more concerned with my brain making sense again.
( I am sick of keeping things to myself--so although I'm posting this, it is in a way not for you. ) -

July 6, Potsdam (actually on the plane)
This trip has been so frustrating. (Warning: I am sleep-deprived and cranky. Things are better than I will make them seem.) Well, I slept until 10 that day, which is almost noon. After that I had breakfast, showered, and generally did nothing until the 12:30 departure for rehearsal. You would expect Karlstejn Castle to be a pretty cool day trip, right? Medieval castle in the Czech Republic, high on a hill, lots of history I couldn't look up because I don't have access to Wikipedia-fun, right? The castle was really boring. We got in to Prague in the late afternoon on Thursday and hung around for a while doing very little before going to the hotel.
First impressions: this place is gorgeous it is absolutely stunning and I never want to leave. Vienna looked like something out of an oil painting or a history book; Prague looks like something out of a dream ( Read more... ) -

June 28, Vienna
Arrived dead tired at Vienna around 1 for a pizza-and-gelato lunch and then sightseeing around the city center. (St. Stephen's cathedral is amazing.) All my pictures of Vienna are of beautiful buildings and impressive statues, but unlike the pictures from Budapest the ones of Vienna are very representative of the city. I definitely underestimated this orchestra. Within 24 hours of being at the hotel we've found roof access through the back staircase. The building is 10 stories and the view is amazing.
We went sightseeing in a little town about 15 minutes outside Budapest. It reminded me of the castles in France that had lots of antiquey little ( Read more... ) -
