Goodbye Zune
With Microsoft shutting down the Zune program, I took stock of how much I've used my Zune HD since I upgraded the iPhone to a 4s.
The player itself hasn't been used for several months. Today I subscribed to iTunes Match and pointed it to the folder marked "music". It all got uploaded and can now be downloaded or streamed to my phone at will.

The First Birthday Without My Dad.
Chris Alan Balthrop, Sr., who taught me how to use computers, fascinated my elementary school classes with demonstrations about why fiber-optics could do in the mid-1970's, and was a source of wisdom to me when I finally "grew up" after the Army, would have been 67 today.

Birthday Week: I'm Still Having To Put Down the Phone
Today would have been Grandma Jo's 91st birthday. Every year since I was able to pick up a telephone (about age 3 or 4), the very first thing I did was call Grandma to wish her a happy birthday.
