Oh, that was fabulous. It gives me all kinds of inspiration about Jack and his childhood and friends and whatnot (obviously). What a wonderful child he was! I just loved it. Well done.

I'm so, so delighted you found it and liked it!

I so clearly remember that childhood feeling of getting in trouble for things that weren't technically my fault...though they had snowballed into disasters...and I imagined Jack would have had much experience in this from a very early age. *g* Poor Jacky. Hope I didn't torture the little mite too much!

Thanks a million for reading and commenting! I'm thrilled you felt inspired by the story! *gggggg* :D

hello, Jacky's thoughts on death pearlseed April 27 2008, 22:24:36 UTC
So sorry to bother--however, I just had the most glorious laugh outloud at that poor child so sure of his death:
"he’d be killed then and there, he was sure of it. Killed so dead any memory of him would be sucked straight back into the earth. Killed so dead there wouldn’t be even a pinprick of a hole left behind where he’d been. He’d resigned himself entirely to death"

Oh, my word--I am still laughing outloud--wasn't that just a blast to get out of your imagination!! Only a dedicated child....there's other spots, just saying that your story delighted me totally and now as I re-read, it delights me in parts. Clever one you are!! Hope all studies go smoothly for you--we're almost to the end of the school year here--then joyous fabulous free!!! Thanks again sweetpea--fine words, dancing together!!

Bloody wonderful!!! anonymous January 19 2009, 17:35:41 UTC
This is brilliant! I have read it over and over again. You created young Jacky so perfectly. There are so many moments and in here where it just hits the reader- "Omg, that's why now in his adult years he *fill in the blank*". I am just laughing with delight every time I read this. I love the way you painted little Jack (and his family! I love Kit already!) before the EITCo and piracy and mutiny and sunstroke and whatnot. This is by far my favorite fanfic ever. Keep up the amazing work!

Though you may be well aware of this and just changed things up to keep it fictional and unique, my only negative note is that it's Captain WILLIAM Kidd, not Robert. :D Ima bit picky about that certain pirate.
