Someone who registered for Ebay today from a hotmail account has the top bid on all twelve of my auctions. If that's someone here, I'll relax; otherwise, it makes me pretty nervous.

fela, ebay, current auctions

Use USPS Priority mail, so that we can track it, then. That's disquieting.

The problem is, Ebay/Paypal have a horrible record of dealing sensibly with reversed charges, even with a paper trail. If it doesn't turn out to be someone here, and it continues to lead all the auctions, I'll have to consider what if anything to do about it before the auctions end.

It is an address in the U.S. This is reassuring, thank you.

I've never blocked bidders with low feedback because I've never had to....

Ow. Do you take any payments less secure than PayPal, or is it PayPal (with confirmed address) only? I know PayPal can be a circus, but if you ship to a confirmed address with delivery confirmation they should stand behind you if the buyer tries to reverse payment later.

I don't use anything less secure than Paypal. This is reassuring, thanks.

Now I only have to worry about whether these are serious bids at all. And the fact that if I saw that all the bids on a seller's items were from the same zero-feedback person, I would hesitate to bid.

When I've bought stuff on eBay and didn't want to use PayPal, I offered to send a check first and let the seller send me my purchase after it cleared. Perhaps you could suggest that they send you a check or money order.

Yeah, I might do that, especially if it turns out they just started a Paypal account too.
