Does anybody know of a good recipe for peanut butter filled chocolate cupcakes where you put the peanut butter in before baking as opposed to piping it in when the cupcakes are done?

I don't see how that would work without the PB just melting into the batter?!

The one time i made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter in the middle I just made my fav chocolate cupcake recipe and put globs of peanut butter in the middle before baking it and they turned out fine.

Meaning they turned out as chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter in the middle. I hadn't actually thought of piping it in afterwards.

Here's a recipe I have meaning to try for awhile that adds the peanut butter before baking:

Frozen balls of PB might maintain separation from the batter better...????

I have made brownies like this. I like to use my mini tart pan. It works just fine. The recipe that I got from my friend you don't push the pb cup all the way down. The brownie rises a little and the pb cup melts down just a bit so they are flat on top. But, I don't know why covering them completely wouldn't work.

That's... that's genius! And sounds utterly delicious to boot.

I made these a while back:

(that is my now-defunct baking blog)

I think I used a little too much of the peanut butter filling, so in some of my cupcakes it sank to the bottom. But they were some of the best-tasting cupcakes I have ever made. :D
