Last week was my sister's 21st birthday. After giving it some thought she asked me to make her the simplest cake known to man: a chocolate ripple cake. Known to some of you instead as an ice box or zebra cake, they are simply made up of biscuits sandwiched with cream. Typically they're stacked end-to-end to make a log cake.

Yep, the link above goes to the bumblebee cause that entry has the step-by-step photos for the joconde, whereas the ripple doesn't (I added that in after someone commented on my Cakecrumbs facebook page about being confused about how to decorate the décor paste). The link under goes to the chocolate ripple entry. Sorry for the confusion - I copied and pasted that from my blog so it probably made more sense over there.
