CHAPTER 3 - A LITTLE TALK
"Sure, I'd love to". Kazu said, trying to be polite while glaring daggers over Jin.
The bell rang and Jin walked right past her.
"matte~!" kazu called.
"I'm supposed to be showing the school for the whole day, remember?" kazu asked him.
"Yeah I remember. So that's it? You just show me where everything is all day. I dont have to go to class?" Jin asked.
"Nope, and neither do I, regrettably." kazu replied.
"Well I figured that." Jin said as he show his trademark smirk.
"Okay escort, show me around." He commanded motioning kazu walk a head of him.
Kazu headed out of the classroom.
Luckily she and tat~chan were on the third floor, so she could work her way down.
The floor she where is on the math, and science floor. And there was a computer lab and bathrooms,
she explained. She headed down the stairway.
2nd floor is English and social studies floor. It also had the Home EC room, and some lockers.
Along with a couple bathrooms of course. The bottom floor was where the cafeteria, the two auditoriums, and the two gyms were. Is was about lunch time when they were at the bottom floor , they just decided to sit down until lunch period began.
"So..." kazu said. Sitting on the floor with her back against the wall next to jin looking at her shoes.
"So." Jin said, doing the same.
"Where did you come here from?" kazu broke the silence.
"Osaka." Jin answered.
"How come you guys moved here?" she asked. He was now looking at her with those intriguing eyes. They made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. She weren't used to being alone with a guy... but then she remembered what an asshole he could be and went back to a calm state.
"My mom said we needed to start over." He said. Still keeping eye contact.
Kazu decided not to go on with any more questions. They just sat and talked about normal things until the bell rang for lunch. They walked through the line and sat down at an empty table together.
"You sure want to sit with the new kid?" Jin asked.
"Trust me, I have nothing to lose." kazu said.
"What is that supposed to mean?" He asked.
"Nothing, really. It just means that... I'm not like, popular or anything. I dont have a reputation to ruin, if that's what you were wondering." kazu said, a little confused.
"Oh come on, pretty girl like you? Not popular?" Jin said, opening his rootbeer.
Kazu blushed a little, actually, a lot. She never had a guy give her a compliment before.
"Nope. Just kind of the blender-inner" kazu said, wondering if that made any sense what so ever.
But he seemed to get it. They guys went on eating, and talking.
They talked about everything. Jin was a lot easier to talk to when he wasn't acting like a jerk.
Kazu might actually make a new friend here...
The bell rang and lunch was over. Kazu and Jin just walked around the school for a few minutes.
There was nothing better to do. Suddenly kazu realized an older couple, probably seniors, heading for a door across from the vending machines. Jin noticed them too, because he gave kazu a smirk and raised his eyebrow.
"I wonder what they're up to?" kazu said.
"Want to find out?" Jin said. Grabbing kazu gently by the hand.
"What if we get caught?" Kazu said as she hold Jin's hand too, TIGHTLY.
"Dont worry. It's not like were doing anything wrong. Besides you're showing me around. At least we have an accuse to be out here. If anyone gets in trouble, it will be them."
"OK." kazu gave in. She wasn't the only one to take chances.
Jin led kazu to where the couple went and opened the door. It was just a hallway.
Then kazu realized where she and Jin were.
"Shit! This is the forbidden hallway. We cant be in here!" kazu said. Jin looked at her in puzzlement.
"Forbidden, hey? Why is it 'forbidden'?" Jin said, obviously interested.
"I dont know exactly. All I know is that this was kind of an awkward hallway after the construction was done. They didn't need it anymore because they built new ones." kazu said, just guessing.
The two of them went down the hallway and up the stair well, but kazu didn't see the couple that came in there. Then she saw another door. She went to push it open, but it was locked. Kazu and Jin turned around and headed back down the stairs the way she came from. Again, she pushed against the door that she first came into the hallway from, but it wouldn't open... it was also locked.
"It's locked." kazu said. With her eyes wide open looking at Jin.
Not believing her, Jin went up and tried to push it open himself, but not succeeding.
Then, one gentle push turned into a hard push, than a kick, and then his crossing his arms over his chest and finally giving up. They looked at each other in the eyes
"Oh shit..." Jin said.
"This is great!" kazu said panicking. Pacing back and forth.
"Listen, it's no big deal. Someone will find us." kazu noticed he was amused by watching her freak out. She decided to calm down.
"OK. You're probably right. Someone will find us." she sighed plopping down on the floor leaning up against the wall. Kazu glanced at her watch. It was 1:54. School lets out at 3:00.
Someone would find them by then, she figured.
"It could be worse." Jin said.
"How?" kazu asked sarcastically.
"Well, I could be stuck in here with an ugly girl, but I guess I'm lucky like that." Jin said, looking at her straight in the eye, just then, the door jerked open. The two of them jumped up immediately and kazu dusted off some floor dust from her butt (While Jin watched happily) and just looked at the door.
"Hey~" They heard someone say behind the door.
