Yesterday I was trying to classify my pictures by subject (that was easy!) and by year, and I discovered a picture I don't know.

I think I found it in a French site, but I don't remember one thing about it. I become senile! Does someone know what shot this is from? I called it 'Narcissus' ( Read more... )

Yes, Mews is right - this actual pic was taken at the opening of Viggo's 'Sign Language' exhibition in California, Feb 2002. The pic on the wall is one that was taken by Viggo during a sudden snowstorm in Queenstown, Nov 1999. You may have seen the other lovely pic he took of Lij at the same time and a really nice one of Dom which was also in the exhibition. Dom was also at the opening. One fan actually bought the original of the Lij pic (the one on the wall)at that event - lucky lady:)

Yes, I know exactly what you mean - I feel the same. He was so cold at that moment, poor thing - I can't remember where I saw the clip now but I know he was blowing on his hands to try and warm them up.

And btw - I adore your snowy icon, its very pretty:)

My most heartbreaking moment as a teacher was when one of my students asked me to help him fill in a form - he was 16 and an orphan, the only 2 people who he could vaguely call close relatives, his 18 year old brother and his step-dad (the man his mother was married to when she died) took no real responsibility for him. He lived with a guy who let him have a room rent free.
It was very hard to be matter-of-fact about telling him that he would have to put deceased in the boxes for both parents and nil in the guardian box.

Some days I feel like shaking whining kids and say "you don't know how good you have got it"

I'd like to shake whining kids AND whining parents!
As a teacher, I find hard to be so helpless: you couldn't give your student his parents, I can't force that mother to love his son...

Aw that poor boy! How awful for his mother to say that too him, I wish there was something I could do to make him feel happy.

It's really awful! And nobody can force that woman to love his son... He's a nice boy; he doesn't deserve that. No kid deserves that.

I can't help with where the picture came from (knowing this amazing fandom I bet someone has by now) but I have to say it's lovely. So unguarded and kind of sweet. I love it.

Yes, I got the information. I think I could ask for information about a pic of Elijah's left foot and get detailed answers!:)
