So xparrot and gnine asked for a Ninja/Pirate AU fic. And this got me to "researching" Ninjas (which consisted of reading related wikipedia articles and watching exactly one episode of the anime Naruto on a day I spent sick at home, which didn't overwhelm me exactly. Now I DEFINITELY have to go back to the comic shop tomorrow and pray that they have this one. Gotta love anything that admits to the slash even in a sublimated het way...or especially in a sublimated het way.

The writer of this must have been a mad shipper. I mean, there's no rational *reason* to turn Batman into a girl in this AU other than to show us that they're OTP! It's historically... less than accurate.

So was The Last Samurai, but I still love that movie. Anyway, I bought it and read it and I gotta say that I squeed a bit at the kiss. You're right, there's no rational reason to turn Bruce into a girl because normally they like to choke us with the idea that even in AUs Clark and Lois are meant to be, but not in this one.

Bwahaha! I totally did not expect that turn of events. I kept waiting and waiting for Elseworlds BatMAN to show up after Ninja Superman but instead we get Hana/Hoshi. Awesome!

Pretty Girl Ninja Batman rules!

It's like the writer says: if Batman were a girl, we'd all ship Super/Bat, because Batman is ten times more awesome than Lois or Wonder Woman.

This could be that you're out of anime, or could be because Naruto kind of sucks...)

But...Wow the crack! (GA...hmm, well, the samurai were archers, but he really ought to be on horseback...)
Japanese Superman looks like a blue-eyed version of Kenshin's Saitou Hajime!

And does Lex always die when he does the right thing? or just in every AU story I've seen? No wonder he's evil, if that's his only choice besides death!

Ummmm...I wouldn't worry about that, looks like you're still a couple centuries away from Commodore Perry...I'd be much more concerned about the rest of Asia, with a Superman-powered Japan...okay, yes, thinking about the comic book too much, will stop now ^^;)

True. It was like Pokemon level of suck. I'm sure that there are still other animes worth watching out there.

Yeah, this Japan is going to conquer the world and since everyone who's got the brains to stop Kal-El is dead... I'm thinking hard about who's going to be the resistance fighters some years hence. At least they kept the kryptonite sword conveniently locked in some temple.
