Yow! This is so sad, with Lex permanently confined to the wheelchair, and yet so heartwarming, too, with Lex getting Clark back from Kal-El, and breaking him out. *happy sigh* And, even though my knowledge of X-Men is quite limited, I did figure out that Lex was Charles Xavier (that's the name, right?) and Clark/Kal-El was Magneto. (Did Magneto really break Xavier's back?) Also, being VERY optimistic, I'm hoping that Clark can now use some sort of Kryptonian medical technology to heal Lex.... Great story! If you ever do expand on it, I'd love to read it.

Well, X-Men, like most comics, has several canons instead of just one. In Ultimate X-Men, Magneto broke Charles's back when they had a disagreement about their utopian island mutant state, because Charles finally realized that Magneto was a megalomaniac and wanted to flee. In main X-Men canon I think there have been several explanations, but originally it was a car crash caused by Charles's half-brother (it's totally fascinating how well Charles's and Lex's family history match). In the movies... I dunno. I don't think it's ever mentioned how he got the chair, but in the X3 flashback, he can still walk.

I had the same thoughts about kryptonian tech ;) Although this Lex isn't as bitter about being in a wheelchair as, say, Clark's dream Lex in "Labyrinth".

Well, Clark's dream Lex in "Labyrinth" couldn't leave his body to drift freely through other people's minds. *happy sigh* The thought of Lex as a telepath is just lovely....

Wheee, one of the best kind of crack there is! There's still enough SV (Lex in a wheelchair ala-Labyrinth, manipulating his father for the sake of his mother and his will to know everything to control everyone; Clark with trust issues made worse and his innate sense of justice and will to protect) and Marvel/the X-Men movies (Lex's mansion really made into the school for the gifted and being a teacher-father; Clark's alien version of the Holocaust and his need for revenge) for the whole idea to be awesome, and hot, and of course they'll still be gay for each other; they have a future together in any world.
