Cracky and brillant! If Clark and Lex were to rule the world,I think this scenario would be the most dramatic and intense. The parallels to the X-Men made me drop my jaw while reading this.

Fantastic!

I could have said in the summary that it's an X-Men pastiche, but that would have taken away the surprise - still, I guess the story doesn't make much sense to people who don't know the Xmen movies.

I have been waiting SO LONG for someone to write an Xavier!Lex and Magneto!Clark story and...I seriously seriously would love more of this.

I love the Elseworld books because they hit on my love of AU like nothing else, and this story would be so amazing in an actual comic book.

It's so cool to hear that I'm not the only one with that cracky idea :D There's tons of story material in here - I'd love to flesh out the universe, because I never really got to play with the X-verse except for one fic - but I've got so many other stuff to write first!

That was fab...as a lover of Charles and Erik and X verse as a whole I thought it was great to see. It made me all kinds of warm inside...and i think it was a good blend of their similarities and differences of Lex and Charles.

PS in one X arc (ultimate Xmen i think) Charles wipes Magneto's mind instead of letting him go to prison because i think this time they would have executed him for nearly destroying the world or NYC. Makes him a nice happy volunteer working with children, and his own little girlfriend. So yes I think in a way this is possible in both universes.

Actually, Lex as Charles works surprisingly well. He's got the tendency to lecture, and Charles is morally ambiguous as it is. Clark as Erik is a bit weirder.

I know! Charles wiping Magneto's mind was the saddest but slashiest issue of Ultimate X-Men ever! (It's the only Marvel book I've read about 50 issues or so of).

Eeeheeheehee. I've been troubled for a long while now that when I see a comicbook bald guy it's vital to quickly discern whether it's DC or Marvel, so I know who I'm fanning on. This is...just...yes...such crack. Delicious crack!

Kal-El wearing the red ring as Lex wore a green ring in another world, nifty. Also, apart from being Charles, telepath!Lex is just awesome in his own right. Controlling Lionel, how he feels Clark/Kal-El's mind...whee!

If it's got weird eyebrows, it's usually Charles ;) But I know your problem! Wouldn't that be an awesome crossover event? Forget Superman vs. Spiderman - Professor X vs. Lex Luthor!

AGH stop putting ideas to my head! (Although it was more reminsicent of an AU fic idea I scrapped, where they join forces rather than oppose one another.)

Oooh, I loved this!

The road to hell is slippery, and the path of righteousness straight, allowing no straying, not a single misstep. Clark has taught him that.

Gorgeous!
