Yes, I think so. Every death hurts him, he never just brushes it off and moves on. Makes me wonder why Gwen thinks Jack lacks humanity.

Jack is lucky to have Ianto's support when he needs it, even if it's just sitting silently with him on a roof. His understanding and acceptance would be invaluable to Jack's peace of mind, one of those things that pushy Gwen-the-Mouth would never get.

Precisely! Ianto gives Jack what he needs without demanding or even expecting anything in return. He's just there for Jack, no matter what. Gwen would try tom make it all about her and her needs.
