Counting is a important skill if you are going to try to impersonate another creature!

It is, but in the flummel's defence, it was dark and it didn't have time to look carefully before trying to disguise itself. When there's a group of birds together, it can be difficult to tell which legs belong to which. Many times I've seen birds that at first glance seem to have three legs, then one moves and you realise there's another just behind it creating the illusion.

I'm sure anyone caught up in a situation like this, including Ianto, could quite easily miscount body parts they weren't familiar with. I'd much rather they be chasing this swan than the purple one. This one is nice.

Me too, iantojjackh 's swan was SCARY!

Yep, poor thing was quite frantic, not knowing what Torchwood might to to it if they caught it. It needn't have worried though, now they know it's not a threat of any kind I'm sure they can come to an arrangement that suits everybody.

Something friendly is always more appealing than something that's trying to kill you.

Not sure how many legs a Flummel should have in its natural form. Two is boring, three would mean the whole 'miscounting' thing wouldn't work, so it must have more than three, maybe six or so... It's important tio figure these things out in case I want to use the character again. ;)
