Summary: On an alien planet, the Doctor comes across something that’s distinctly out of place.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
The statue is larger than life, carved from a massive block of golden stone, and on a planet where the natives are three-foot-tall tripodal creatures with tentacles instead of arms and legs, and heads that resemble cauliflowers, it’s utterly incongruous.
The likeness is quite remarkable, however, every line and curve faithfully recreated, right down to the teasing smile. Clearly the people of this world are remarkable artisans, to have created a sculpture that’s so instantly recognisable.
Rocking back and forth on his heels, studying the statue, the Doctor decides he’d better ask River about it next time he sees her.
