Summary: When everything is getting her down, Buffy does something guaranteed to cheer her up.

A/N: Double drabble.
Some nights, when she’s out on patrol and passing one of Sunnydale’s playgrounds, if there’s nobody else around, Buffy stops for a while. She’s sixteen, not a little kid anymore, and weighed down not only by her Slayer duties and keeping secrets from her mom, but by high school life, and trying to juggle her many responsibilities. When it all gets too much to deal with, and the punching bag just isn’t doing it for her, she’s found this is the best way to decompress.
First the slide, hoping she doesn’t get the seat of her pants dirty, sliding down and jumping off the end. Then the merry-go-round, pushing it fast as she can before jumping on, whirling madly around until she’s giddy, head tipped back to watch the stars spin above her.
Finally, the swings, saved until last because they’ve always been her favourite, swinging herself as high as she can go, feeling like all her troubles are falling away, and she’s free as a bird. Even though she knows she can’t just let go and soar into the sky, it almost feels like she could.
When she finally gets off and continues her patrol, her heart feels lighter.
