Summary: The universe is destined to eventually die, but some races are already doing all they can to prevent its demise.

Watching from the open door of his TARDIS, hovering in space, the Doctor watches in silent awe and wonder as a new planet takes shape. It’s something he’s witnessed many times in his long existence, but this time it’s different, not a spontaneous act of nature, but a deliberate act of creation.
Once, there had been a solar system here, until its sun had gone nova, obliterating an entire civilisation. Now the debris is being deliberately drawn together to create a new world beneath an artificial sun.
If it works, then perhaps the lifespan of the universe can be extended.
