Summary: As Torchwood Tower burns, Ianto is desperate to find Lisa.

A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto wished he could believe he was simply having a really bad dream, but it felt too real. The smell of smoke, the crackling of flames, the stifling heat, the coppery reek of spilled blood, and the agonised screams of the dying… Even his worst nightmares never included so much sensory detail. It was real, his humdrum workday world twisted out of all recognition, transformed into a living Hell peopled with metal monsters.
He wanted to get out, to flee with the few survivors frantically trying to escape the madness, but if he did that, he knew he’d never be able to forgive himself. For the rest of his life, if he got out alive, he’d have to carry with him the overwhelming guilt of abandoning the woman he loved, and that would be a fate worse than death.
If Lisa was alive, he’d find her and try to get both of them out. If she was dying or already dead, then he’d die beside her, because life without her wouldn’t be worth living.
Mind made up, he gathered the tattered shreds of his courage, pushed open the stairwell door, stepped into another smoke-filled corridor, and continued his desperate search.
