Summary: More than anything, Bill wanted an education.

It had been her curiosity and an insatiable thirst for knowledge that had brought Bill to the university in the first place, not as a student, but as a server in the cafeteria. At least there she could meet people, eavesdrop on bits of conversations, maybe unobtrusively sit in on the occasional lecture. She couldn’t afford the tuition fees, but she’d be surrounded by intellectuals; maybe some of their education would rub off on her.
She’d never thought it would lead to this, travelling through space and time in a blue box with one of the professors.
It was brilliant!
