It was strange. During the events of Canary Wharf, despite how terrifying it had been, hiding from Cybermen and Daleks, trying to stay alive, Ianto had been so focused on finding Lisa that he almost hadn’t had time to be scared.
Then, when he’d eventually discovered her, half-converted and strapped to one of those hideous machines, his only thought had been to free her, smuggle her out of the tower and away from London. He’d ruthlessly suppressed his own emotions for the sake of the woman he loved, doing whatever he needed to without hesitation. Knowing Lisa was depending on him had kept him sane through one of the worst experiences possible.
Now here he was, in the Brecon Beacons, at the mercy of a bunch of cannibals, and he couldn’t stop shaking. Finding the body parts in the basement refrigerator had been bad enough, but at that point he hadn’t been alone; Tosh had been there with him, and her presence had been enough to keep him from completely falling apart. But then he’d helped her to escape.
There was no one with him now except the cannibals, waiting to butcher him for meat. He’d never felt so afraid.
