BtVS Double Drabble: Falling Through

Summary: Buffy just wanted to be left alone, but she can’t stop being the Slayer.

A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
Buffy feels a bit like Alice, stepping through the looking glass, only in this case, instead of a mirror, it’s a scummy, disgusting pool of water, and she doesn’t so much step through it as get pulled into it by Ken’s weight, thanks to the chokehold he has on her.
Not the most fun time she’s ever had, but at least he cushions her fall, and the impact makes him let go.
One look tells her she’s no longer in L.A., but she’d figured that out before she wound up here. This is some kind of hell dimension, populated by people taken off the street to serve as slaves, working themselves to death in a hot, stinking factory, beaten into submission by their jailers, a bunch of ugly demons. Kindly, sympathetic Ken is one of them.
That doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Anyone luring kids to this place was bound to be part of the set-up, but that’s okay. Buffy knows how to deal with demons; she’s been doing it for years. So much for taking a sabbatical from the whole Slayer thing. Can’t escape destiny.
Although she’d been reluctant to get involved, it feels good to fight again, unleash all her frustrations on creatures deserving of a thorough ass-kicking. Too many kids have had their lives used up only to be discarded once they grew too old and frail to work. It ends now. Buffy intends to free the workers and shut Ken’s operation down for good.
