A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto understood Jack’s desire to save the Space Whale. It was an innocent creature, suffering at the hands of greedy humans who saw it only as a means to make money, not as what it was, a living, breathing creature that had never done anyone any harm.
Still, it was clear that Jack hadn’t thought the whole situation through. Rescuing something so huge would require a truck far bigger than anything they had access to. Getting the whale in and out would be impossible without a crane, and its injuries were so severe that moving it at all would cause it unimaginable agony.
Then there was the question of where to house it while it was recovering, and what to feed it… He’d half-joked about stocking up on plankton, but this wasn’t an earth whale, it was a creature whose natural environment was the vacuum of space. Could it even eat the same things ordinary whales did? Ianto was pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to source space plankton.
He sighed. He didn’t want to disappoint Jack, especially now, but he honestly didn’t think it could be done. Jack was asking for a miracle not even Ianto Jones could produce.
