“I’m thinking maybe I should get a tattoo,” Willow murmurs as she lays in their bed, Tara’s head on her shoulder, twining her girlfriend’s ash-blonde hair around one finger. “What do you think?”
Tara’s fingertips ghost delicately across Willow’s bare skin, over her ribs, lingering ticklishly at her waist, before mapping out the curve of her hip.
“A tattoo?”
“Mm hm.”
“Like what? A magical symbol?”
“The most magical of all.” Willow turns her head to smile at Tara. “Your name.” She touches herself. “Right here, over my heart.”
Tara blushes. “That’s not magical.”
“Oh but it is! Every time I see your face or hear your name it’s like I’m walking on air. You make my world sparkle and my heart sing; that’s real magic.” Willow rolls them both over so that Tara is laying against the pillows, leans in to kiss her softly. “Sometimes when I touch you, I can scarcely believe you’re real, that you’re mine.”
“I am though, always. But if anyone’s magical, it’s you. I’m just the moon, reflecting your light.”
“I think you’ve got that the wrong way round. I never shone before I met you.” Propping herself on one elbow, Willow gazes into Tara’s lovely face. “So, tattoo?”
Smiling, Tara shakes her head. “No, I don’t think you should; you’re already perfect just the way you are.” Her fingers caress Willow’s unblemished skin. “It would be a shame to spoil this.”
“I don’t need to anyway. Your name’s already tattooed on my heart.”
