Tosh can’t help wondering exactly why she finds Owen so attractive, why she’s drawn to him, why she perhaps even loves him. It’s certainly not because of his personality; he’s a self-proclaimed twat, grumpy and obnoxious. He can be sweet when he wants to be, but most of the time he can’t be bothered.
So what is it that makes him special? He doesn’t have the caring, compassionate nature of most doctors. His bedside manner is non-existent, and he gives the impression of not actually liking people, although he’ll happily shag any woman he can lure into his bed. Well, any woman except Tosh.
He’s intelligent, there’s no doubt of that, even if he has an ego to match. Owen could never be accused of being modest about his achievements. He’s an amazing doctor too, and despite his grouchy nature, he’s dedicated to what he does best, fully committed to easing suffering and saving lives, aliens as often as humans.
Perhaps it’s his eyes Tosh likes, brown like chocolate, but hiding a sadness so deep and personal that it breaks her heart. Or maybe it’s his hands, a surgeon’s hands, fine-boned yet strong and capable.
Maybe the reason isn’t important.
