Spike couldn’t believe any of this was happening. He’d planned so carefully, researched the ritual for months, painstakingly gathered everything he’d need. He’d begged, stolen, even bribed Willy to help capture Angel, because the spell to restore Dru to her full strength wouldn’t work without her sire. Angel was the key ingredient.
Everything had been going perfectly, the assassins from the Order of Taraka were deployed to take out the Slayer, keep her from interfering, and… they’d failed. What use were assassins if they couldn’t do their job? Three of the best the Order could offer, and they couldn’t even take down a slip of a girl!
Just when he’d thought he’d won, that nothing could keep him from curing Dru, everything was coming undone, his plans crumbling around him. Now he was facing not one but two Slayers, which shouldn’t be possible; there was only ever supposed to be one! As if that wasn’t bad enough, Buffy had brought along her Watcher and all her little friends to help out.
It couldn’t end this way! He wasn’t about to let Drusilla down, not when they’d come so far, but the odds were against them. Time for them to leave.
