A/N: Double drabble.
“Where’s Captain Harkness?” The UNIT general demanded. “I want to speak to him!”
Ianto looked blandly back at the officious man; from his bellow it sounded more like he wanted to air his grievances, although what he had to be annoyed about, Ianto couldn’t begin to imagine. Torchwood had come to the rescue as fast as they could, and thanks to their superior knowledge, had managed to prevent disaster caused by UNIT’s stupidity.
“I’m sorry, General Mackey, but Captain Harkness is currently unavailable.”
“Unavailable? That’s not good enough! I demand to speak to him immediately!”
“That won’t be possible, unless you intend to hold a séance.”
“Séance? What’re you talking about?”
“At present, Jack is dead. He was ripped apart saving some of your people, something that wouldn’t have been necessary if you’d followed the advice you were given while we were en route.” Ianto was done with being pushed around by an incompetent General who thought UNIT knew more about dealing with a XeeChee invasion force than Torchwood did.
“Dead?”
“Yes, as you and most of your people would have been if we hadn’t arrived when we did.” Torchwood has easily dealt with the threat. “Difference is, he’ll recover.”
