A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
“Why do spiders have to have so many legs?” Ryo complained. “And why do they have to run so fast?”
“No good askin’ me,” Dee replied. “I’m no expert. You want me to get it for ya?”
Ryo had been chasing this particular arachnid around the living room for a good ten minutes already, glass in hand, ready to trap the monster so it could be tossed out the window, but the task was proving more difficult than expected, partly because Ryo really did not like spiders.
“No, I can do it. I can’t let my phobia get the better of me.” Ryo stalked after the spider again, only to leap backwards when it unexpectedly changed direction and headed towards him. “That’s cheating! Stand still so I can catch you!”
Dee snickered. “Don’t think it’s listenen’ to ya, babe.”
“It’s not funny, Dee. If it was a snake and not a spider, you’d be standing on the sofa.”
“No I wouldn’t, I’d be out that door in nothin’ flat, probably wouldn’t stop runnin’ until I reached my apartment. When it comes to dealin’ with phobias, you’re a lot braver than I am.”
“You really think so?”
“No doubt about it. You face your fears, I just run from mine.”
Dodging out of the spider’s path again, Ryo glanced towards his lover. “Nothing wrong with running away from something you can’t handle. Want to be the big, brave hero and get rid of the spider for me?”
“Thought you’d never ask.”
