“Ianto,” Gwen called from her desk. “Could you get me the…”
“Files regarding the missing gnomes?”
Gwen all but jumped out of her seat. Somehow he was right behind her, holding out the files she’d wanted.
He smiled blandly. “I think this should be everything you need.”
“How do you do that? I only realised I needed them a couple of minutes ago; it’s as if you know what I want even before I do!”
“Perhaps I do.” He winked at her. “I’m psychic.”
“I think you must be. Thanks for these; I’ll let you know when I’ve finished with them.”
“You do that.” Ianto picked up the empty mug from her desk and disappeared in the direction of what passed for the Hub’s kitchen.
Some time later, Gwen went up to Jack’s office.
“Jack? Can I ask you something?”
Leaning back in his seat, Jack grinned up at her.
“Fire away!”
“Can Ianto read minds or something? I mean, no matter what I need, he always seems to bring it to me before I even ask. That can’t be natural. I asked him about it, and he said he’s psychic. Is
he?”
Jack smiled wryly. “I honestly don’t know.”
