A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto was in the boardroom, repairing a small tear in Jack’s coat. It was the best place for this kind of thing because he could spread the heavy garment out across the boardroom table, have his sewing equipment readily to hand, and sit in a comfortable seat while he worked.
He didn’t mind doing repairs, although he did often wish Jack would be more careful with his vintage greatcoat. If he kept damaging it, eventually there wouldn’t be enough of it left to repair, but for the moment it seemed to be holding up surprisingly well.
Putting in a final stitch, he fastened the thread of and that was when the unthinkable happened; the needle pinged out of his fingers and fell towards the floor.
“ARGH!”
Jack came running in. “What’s wrong? Is it my coat?”
“No, I dropped my needle…”
“That’s no reason to panic. I’ll help you find it. Where did it go?”
Without speaking, Ianto pointed to where Nosy was lying beside his chair.
“Oh dear.” One small needle, lost amid the Fluff’s thick, green fur! “That’s going to be like finding a…”
Ianto cut Jack off. “Don’t say it!”
“Maybe if we tried using a magnet…”
