Summary: There’s a whole news planet to explore and Jack isn’t waiting around.

A/N: Double drabble. Set in my ‘Ghost of a Chance’ ‘verse.
“Come along, Ianto!” Jack strode confidently out onto the surface of the unknown, and so far unexplored planet. “No point just sitting there on the ship. If you want to learn about a place you have to explore. Fortune favours the brave!”
Ianto had a rather different opinion, that unfamiliar worlds were best approached with a degree of caution if you wanted to avoid disaster. Just because he was immortal and would come back from any kind of death he could imagine didn’t mean that he relished the prospect of being killed, and possibly eaten, by the planet’s inhabitants. If there should happen to be any, which was by no means certain. Dying was inconvenient, unpleasant, and usually painful.
“I don’t know why you always have to be in such a rush,” he grumbled, stepping down from the ship. “The planet’s not going anywhere.”
“It’s a beautiful day and there’s so much to see!” Jack gestured expansively at their surroundings, everything tinged turquoise, pink, and purple. “We could be the first intelligent beings to ever set foot on this planet. Who knows what we might discover?”
Jack took another step and fell in a swamp.
“’Intelligent’ might be an exaggeration.”
