A/N: Double drabble.
It was a faint flicker of movement in the corner of his vision that caught Ianto’s attention, making him stop what he was doing and peer into the murky depths. He frowned as he caught sight of it again, closer than before; a ripple on the surface, like the wake left by something swimming underwater. The furrows in his forehead deepened as he caught a glimpse of a streamlined grey body arrowing through the water; that confirmed his suspicions. Spinning on his heel, he made his way up to Jack’s office.
“Jack?”
“Hm?” Jack looked up from his paperwork enquiringly. “Have you come to take me away from all this?” he asked hopefully.
Ignoring the question, Ianto got straight to the point. “Did you put a seal in the Rift pool?”
“Why would I want to do that?”
“I don’t know; that’s why I thought I should check, just in case it might be a shape-shifting alien you’d put in there and forgot to mention.”
“Well I didn’t and as far as I know, it’s not. Does that answer your question?”
“Unfortunately. I can only think of one other possible explanation…”
Jack nodded. “Looks like Myf caught herself another pet.”
