A/N: Double drabble.
“Now I know why it’s called bakin’,” Dee said, splashing cold water over his face and arms in an effort to cool off a bit. One of the downsides of Ryo’s apartment was that the kitchen lacked windows and with the oven going the temperature had skyrocketed.
“You’re the one who volunteered to help me get all this done in time for the fair,” Ryo reminded his partner. “You appointed yourself official taster.”
“And I don’t regret it, everything so far has passed the taste test with flyin’ colors, it’s just, why’d the city have to get hit by a heatwave today of all days? At this rate we’re gonna melt.”
“It’s the middle of summer, Dee; what were you expecting? Snow?”
“A bit of rain would be good.”
“Don’t tempt fate; the last thing we need is for the fair tomorrow to get rained off.” Ryo opened the oven door, letting out another blast of heat as he took out one tray of cookies and slid another in.
“Is that your way of tellin’ me to quit complainin’?”
Ryo just grinned. “If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.”
“No way; I have cookies to sample!”
