where liam is this intensely talented, but also extremely private, fashion photographer and sometimes designer, who people would absolutely kill to work for. however he peaked when he was all of 19 and hasn't really worked much in the past few years even though he's a short trip away from skid row. he's completely lost his inspiration, and he's become so jaded with the contrived, artificial world of fashion. and he has anna wintour breathing down his neck, hounding him for more clothes or more editorial spreads or more something stop letting your talents go to waste, and she keeps sending her new creative director, louis to pester him to death. and you can't really say no to anna wintour for very long, what the hell is he going to do ( ... )

Liam is about to head out the door for his morning run when he hears it.
"Liam," someone is calling. "Liam!"
"Oh my God," he mutters, pressing himself flat against the wall.
"Li-am!" The voice singsongs. Liam closes his eyes.
"I'm not home," he mutters under his breath, "I'm not home, I'm not home, I'm-"
"I know you're in there," Louis calls from the other side of the door.
"No I'm not," Liam whispers.

"How do you even know where I live?" Liam asks. It occurs to him that it probably says a lot about Louis that the first time he'd shown up at the flat instead of Liam's office, Liam hadn't even blinked.
"This is going to bring your career back from the edge, Liam," Louis says, completely ignoring him. Liam isn't the least bit surprised. "Your name will be in lights! You'll be in demand across the globe! You'll be able to pay the rent on time! The possibilities are limitless."
"Oh shut up," Liam says, but honestly, he's tired. Tired of Louis pestering him endlessly, tired of feeling so entirely at loose ends. Tired of being behind on the rent.
"Say yes," Louis says.
"Do you actually know who you're hiring?" Liam asks wearily, but then he waves a hand through the air to cut Louis off before he can start in on another one of his speeches. "Yes. Fine. Yes. When's the editorial meeting?"
"Oh my god," Louis says and darts forward, flinging his arms around Liam and squeezing."Um?" Liam says. Louis snickers against his neck ( ... )

"Hmm?" Louis glances in the direction Liam's pointing. "Not denim pullover, surely, look at his shoulders-oh, no, him. Do you think?"
"Yes," Liam says simply and then, just in case 'simply' isn't the best way to communicate with Louis he adds, "I really, really do. Whatever it is I'm shooting, I want him in it."
"Right you are," Louis says. "Let's see, that's-oh, that's Harry Styles, actually, he's been around a bit lately. You've put your finger on the pulse, Liam, well done you."
"Oh?" Liam says, and then shrugs. "Well he want to do the shoot, do you think?"
"Liam, honestly," Louis says, sounding almost fond. "People still know your name, you know. Not to mention an editorial in 'TXF' is kind of a big fucking deal, if I do say so myself. Here, watch. Styles!"
The boy looks up, his posture straightening a bit, which reveals that not only is he taller than Liam had thought, he's got this neck, and it's just ( ... )

you've basically whacked the nail right on the head and you're only one part in and i'm so excited because it's already perfect i just can't wait to see what amazingness you'll bring.
i can't really pinpoint a favourite part, because it's all pretty much my favourite so far. liam trying to pretend he's not home, and louis just expecting people to do the things he says (but still being pleasantly surprised when liam finally agrees to do a shoot), when liam sees harry. omfg it's all the best just. i don't really have words for how lovely this is.
